Chief Rabbi David Lau has called on the public to add in their prayers an additional prayer for rainfall due to the drought affecting the country.
Rabbi Lau wrote that "most of Kislev has passed and the land of Israel has yet to be blessed with rain, so I call on the public to entreat about this matter and to add the prayer which is customarily recited when there is a drought.
