The Health Ministry announced that a rabid jackal had been found in Kibbutz Ramat Hashofet and a rabid cow in the Megiddo region.
The ministry asks all those who were in contact or whose animal was in contact with a sick or roaming animal to contact the nearest health facility in order to consider preventive treatment. Information about the incidence should be transferred to those touring and residing in nearby communities and parents should ask their children whether they had contact with a sick animal. Pet owners should contact veterinary facilities to determine if their pets have been vaccinated.
