United States President Donald Trump suggested that Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough murdered his intern in 2001 while he was still a congressman.
Reacting to the news that NBC personality Matt Lauer was fired over allegations of sexual misconduct, Trump tweeted that "So now that Matt Lauer is gone when will the Fake News practitioners at NBC be terminating the contract of Phil Griffin? And will they terminate low ratings Joe Scarborough based on the “unsolved mystery” that took place in Florida years ago? Investigate!"
Scarborough's intern Lori Klausutis was found dead in his Florida district office in 2001.
