Housing and Construction Minister Yoav Galant participated in the opening of the Real Estate City conference in Eilat.

Galant said that "we are committed to providing a proper roof over the head of every Israeli citizen."

Galant referred to housing prices which he said had risen 100% in the years 2005-2015 and only recently had stabilized. He stressed that the government wants to lower the price of land and the profits of contractors in order to lower housing prices.

He also added that the government must encourage urban renovation and not take more farmland, promising that "large neighborhoods will change their look."
