MK Eitan Cabel(Zionist Union) referred to his fight to close Arutz Sheva in an Arutz Sheva interview in Eilat and was asked why he is against freedom of speech, as he fought to close Arutz Sheva and Yisrael Hayom.
Cabel answered that he had never intended to close Arutz Sheva and had only wanted to regulate broadcasts. He added that the closure of Arutz Sheva opened new avenues and allowed for the right wing to develop alternative media channels .
