The Constitution, Law and Justice Committee approved for second and third reading the amendment to the Basic Law: Jerusalem, Capital of Israel, which would require a majority of 80 MKs in order to transfer authority in any part of Jerusalem to a foreign entity.
The law was initiated by MK Shuli Mualem-Rafaeli(Jewish Home). Nine members of the committee voted in favor of the proposed law and seven opposed it.
