Following an investigative television report accusing Israel's ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon of using public funds to buy political support, Members of Knesset Michal Rozin and MK Mossi Raz (Meretz) will ask Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit for a criminal investigation.
The Knesset members said, "The use of the transfer of funds from the Zionist institutions for intra-party political purposes is public corruption of the first order. The attorney general must order an immediate criminal investigation on the matter and we also call on the prime minister to instruct Danon to return immediately to Israel. In light of these suspicions, it's unthinkable that Danny Danon continue to represent the State of Israel at the UN."
