Sergey Naryshkin, who heads Russia's SVR intelligence agency - the equivalent of Israel's Mossad - and is considered one of the closest figures to President Vladimir Putin, arrived in Israel last Thursday for talks on Syria and Iran, according to Channel 10 Television.

Senior Israeli officials said that Naryshkin met with Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, Mossad chief Yossi Cohen and National Security Advisor Meir Ben-Shabat.
