Chairman Yair Lapid of the Yesh Atid party has criticized Prime Minister's Binyamin Netanyahu's signing of a petition calling on President Reuven Rivlin to reconsider his refusal to grant a pardon to former soldier Elor Azariya, who is serving a 14-month manslaughter sentence in the death of a wounded terrorist.
Writing on Twitter, Lapid said Netanyahu's signature "is a direct attack on the president of Israel, the chief of staff and the IDF."
