Prime Minister Netanyahu referred at Sunday's cabinet meeting to a government decision to be taken regarding the allocation of funds to renovate Independence House in Tel Aviv.
Netanyahu said that 30 million NIS would be allocated to renovate the place where David Ben Gurion declared the establishment of the State of Israel, adding that a museum would be established for the history of the people of Israel in the land of Israel.
Jerusalem Affairs minister Zeev Elkin noted the symbolism of the government decision coming exactly 70 years after the UN decision to establish the state and said Independence House will be a "pearl of a museum" for future Israelis.
