Chairman David Amsalem of the Knesset Internal Affairs Committee, commented Thursday morning on the dismissal of Member of Knesset Benny Begin from the committee due to his opposition to the bill banning police from making recommendations when submitting results of their investigations to prosecutors.

Interviewed by Israel Defense Forces Radio, Amsalem said, "I told Begin, 'I really love you, but if it's hard to vote with us, do not come and vote.' He did not agree." Amsalem added, "If one moves from one side to another, this has great significance within the committee. I told Begin 'Vote with us in the committee - and in the plenum you will do what you want,' which is also wrong."
