A steel-reinforced concrete swastika measuring 16 square meters/169 square feet has been unearthed by construction workers in the northern German city of Hamburg, 70 years after it was built, according to Germany's dpa press agency.
The swastika served as a foundation for a monument that was torn down decades ago. It will be destroyed as quickly as possible under a German law which bans Nazi-era symbols.
