Only 30 percent of the cases opened in the last decade for the attempted murder of women resulted in indictments, according to a report by the Knesset Research and Information Center to mark the International Day of Violence against Women in the Knesset. A number of committees will devote part of their agenda to the observance.
Between the years 2016 and 2007, 35% of the women murdered by their spouses had complained to the police about domestic violence. Between 2015 and 2016, the percentage of women killed by their spouses in cases known to the police increased to almost half.
