    Turkey bans gay film festival

Turkish authorities on Wednesday banned a gay film festival, due to concerns regarding public safety and terrorism.

The festival was scheduled for November 16-17 in Ankara, and included four movies by German directors.

In a statement, Ankara's government office said the festival "could incite grudges and enmity towards a part of society" and said intelligence "reports that terror organizations are seeking to attack dissident groups or individuals."
