A new pre-army yeshiva opened Thursday in the town of Or Yehuda, east of Ramat Gan.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel and Deputy Defense Minister Eli Ben-Daahn, as well as Or Yehuda mayor Liat Shohat and city rabbi Tzion Cohen.

The yeshiva will be headed by the leader of the Torah seed group active in the town, Rabbi Ofir Schwartzbaum, who initiated the establishment of the new yeshiva for local boys who want tradition as well as guidance before their army service.
