The Knesset has approved the first reading of a bill by Labor and Welfare Minister Haim Katz to give fathers of children up to two years of age an exemption from an employment test on the way to receiving an income support benefit.
Today only the mothers are entitled to an immediate exemption from the employment test, which is a necessary condition for receiving income support.
