Director Amos Yadlin of the Institute for National Security Studies said on Sunday, "The messages conveyed by Israel in recent days to Hamas and [Islamic] Jihad [in Gaza] are not coincidental and indicate good intelligence that the Jihad has not given up its response to the destruction of the tunnel which entered Israel."
Writing on the Twitter social network, the former head of military intelligence said, "The question of whether a Hamas which is restrained and and reconciled (with the [Palestinian] Authority) could force the Jihad not to take a step that would accelerate the escalation to a full confrontation in the Strip. It was correct to warn the heads of the Jihad and Hamas against the heavy price of another round in the Strip."
