The Ministerial Committee on Legislation has endorsed a bill by Member of Knesset Michael Malchieli (Shas) to give the Minister of the Interior the authority to decree that the distribution of income from general municipal taxes or one or more compulsory payments will be possible among adjacent or bordering authorities located beyond the 1949 Armistice Line.
Until now that authority has only existed within Israel's pre-1967 borders.
