A 4-year-old boy who was left at home alone with his brother in his family home in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Ramot played with matches and gutted the family apartment. Fireman arriving at the apartment on Shabbat found a huge fire on the first floor of a three-floor apartment building with fire and smoke billowing from one of the windows.
The firemen entered the burning apartment, extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to the rest of the building. The firemen searched for trapped people and aired the building out. One woman was slightly injured from smoke inhalation. Extensive damage was caused to the apartment and to parts of the building.
