Rabbi Meir Mazuz, the head of the Kisei Rahamim yeshiva and a supporter of former Shas leader Eli Yishai sharply protested the insulting attitude of Shas leaders towards the Rabbi of Jerusalem, Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar.

Rabbi Mazuz stressed that Rabbi Ovadia Yosef at the end of his life had reconciled with Rabbi Amar and had said "you are forgiven, you are my friend" and therefore the tapes released by Shas in which he attacked Rabbi Amar should not have been published. He added that those who attacked such a great Torah scholar should ask forgiveness from him.
