The Knesset held a joint session with representatives of the European Parliament visiting Israel.
Eight members of the parliament participated in the session. The head of the delegation, Fulvio Martusciello, said that "even 70 years after Israel's establishment, Jews worldwide still suffer from anti-Semitism and just this past week, Jews could not unfurl the Israeli flag and hear their anthem while participating in an international event.
Martusciello also referred to MK Hanin Zoabi and said that she "nurtures the anti-semitic rhetoric against Israel, harms Israel and harms herself." He added that "it is scandalous in my opinion that a Knesset member nurtures hatred of the state that she represents as a parliamentarian" and concluded that "public electees must use diplomatic methods to fight for the success of democracy and peace to prevail over all types of violence and undemocratic acts."
