Transport Minister Yisrael Katz stressed that both he and MK Yoav Kisch, who initiated the Greater Jerusalem bill intend to submit the bill for vote in the Ministerial Legislative committee Sunday.

"This is an historic bill which will ensure the Jewish majority in Jerusalem and strengthen our grip on the city. The law does not deal with diplomatic issues and it is far more important than political or electoral considerations of one sector or another and therefore there is no reason to reject it," Katz said.

He added that "I don't know of any other possible decision. Ensuring the Jewish majority in Jerusalem is a historic duty and we must all work to achieve it."
