Health Minister Yaakov Litzman(UTJ) said that the Supreme Court is against the opinion of most people in Israel, who see Shabbat as a national day of rest and a supreme value over generations.
"In classic court tradition the outgoing Chief Justice issued an anti-religious ruling as her familiar 'final swansong.' This is a callous attempt by the court to harm the Jewish character of the state, inflicting a moral injustice and trampling the rights of thousands of workers whose livelihood is hurt by this ruling and are prevented from family leisure time which is a basic right of every person."
