MK Smotrich responded to the ruling by Miriam Naor permitting the opening of Tel Aviv stores on Shabbat.
Smotrich said that "what is most troubling in this ruling is that there was nobody who believed that there was a chance of a different verdict. The greatest damage that Naor has caused is to public faith in the court.
"The division between religious and non-religious judges [in the court ruling] proves that law is no exact science and involves a lot of agenda and individual viewpoint. All moral decisions should be taken in the Knesset."
