UTJ faction leader Menahem Eliezer Moses reacted angrily to the Supreme Court decision allowing the opening of stores in Tel Aviv on Shabbat.

Moses said that "I'm not surprised at the court decision led by Chief Justice Naor which corresponds to the permanent agenda of the court to rule against anything related to tradition, religion and Judaism.

"I feel a deep pain and anguish over the degradation of the Shabbat for which Jews devoted their lives over all generations and I'm certain that Justice Naor's ancestors were among them. Its a shame that this is the symbol of her departure from the judiciary. United Torah Judaism will act to amend legislation on the matter."
