Education Minister Naftali Bennett lashed out against those who are claiming religious indoctrination in the educational system.

Speaking on Channel 10, Bennett said that "there is a group of people who wish to erase Jewish identity from the face of the earth, they want Sweden over here, they don't want Kiddush and Shabbat services. There are even kindergartens in Tel Aviv which refuse to have Shabbat eve candle lighting ceremonies on Friday for the children. Is that the situation we want?"

Bennett accused the television channel itself of cooperating with secular elements to destroy Judaism. "Stop this fight over a little bit of Judaism and a little bit of Zionism. It is imperative that children in the state of Israel receive a rich Jewish and Zionist educational basis and know what a siddur [prayerbook] is, what selihot are. There won't be religious coercion. I won't allow it and I'm opposed to it."
