Chief Safety Officer Oded Bar Maoz of the Israel Defense Forces recently issued a new procedure prohibiting soldiers from carrying out training which includes aiming weapons at a person.
The new procedure follows an increase in safety incidents in the IDF in which the number of soldiers killed went from four in 2014 to eight in 2015 and double figures the past two years.
