A Be'er Sheva court has sentenced 48-year-old Muhammad Zuabi of Tamra to 15 years in prison and fined 100,000 shekels for conspiring to steal weapons from an Israel Defense Forces base in nearby Sde Teiman, after it was proved that together with his son and another IDF officer who was in charge of securing the weapons, they planned to steal ammunition from a bunker for sale in exchange for large sums of money, according to Channel 2 Television.
According to the indictment, 77 spray grenades, 13 light anti-armor missiles and a Matador missile were stolen. Handing down the ruling, the court wrote, "There is a real potential for harming civilians and the security of the state, a fear that still exists today, when the full number of stolen weapons has not been located."
