The Israel Police are significantly increasing enforcement against drivers who do not use the right lane when they are not passing. In the 40 days since the increased enforcement started, 2855 tickets have been written for the offense.

Driving on the left lane is a hindrance to traffic and delaying the other drivers on the road, with the lane intended only for passing. The offense of failing to keep to the right entails a fine of NIS 250 and six points against the driver.
