The academic year will commence Sunday in all institutions of higher education excepting 17 public colleges in which 55,000 students are enrolled. These institutions will be on strike called by lecturers over salary differentials.
310,000 students will study in 62 academic institutions in Israel. 232,000 for a Bachelors degree, 63,000 for a Masters degree, 11,000 will be studying for a doctorate and 1,300 students are enrolled in various certification courses.
