The head of the Jordan Valley regional council, David Alhiani, told Arutz Sheva that he hopes Zionist Union party leader Avi Gabbay's statement that even in a diplomatic agreement, communities will not be removed, was said in good faith.

Alhiani said that this statement represents historic positions of the Labor party, forunner of the Zionist Union, in the past and added that in recent times, extreme left-wing leaders had taken control of the party and had distorted its historic position which was to oppose the dismantling of communities.
