20 haredim involved in Jerusalem Faction demonstrations have been arrested. The demonstrators are protesting the arrest of yeshiva students who refused to register with the IDF. Registering is mandatory in Israel, but full time Torah students receive unlimited deferments.
Sarei Yisrael and Jaffa streets are still closed to traffic and demonstrators are periodically disrupting light rail service.
Police are maintaining their presence at all the focal points of disturbances.
