Ahead of next week's start of the college academic year, Member of Knesset Oren Hazan (Likud) has submitted a new bill that will grant four academic credits to students serving in the reserves, if they serve more than 10 reserve days in one year.

The regulations of the Council for Higher Education allow for the granting two academic credits to students working for the public in various frameworks including in the reserves, but in practice, a significant majority of institutions do not allow students to exercise this right.
