A court has sentenced Wissam Zubeidat of the northern Israeli-Arab city of Sakhnin to five years and ten months in prison and a fine of 14,000 shekels on a conviction of joining the Islamic State terror movement with his wife and children.

Zubeidat was convicted of membership in a terrorist organization, membership in an unlawful association, prohibited military training, and contact with a foreign agent. His wife Sabrin, who was convicted of similar offenses, was sent to 50 months imprisonment in March.
