A Holocaust survivor whose father and uncle, celebrated soccer players, were murdered in the Holocaust, commemorated their memory by donating a new soccer pitch in Israel at Yemin Orde, a youth village near Haifa.
George Blank is considered one of the biggest donors to Israel in the US but this donation of a soccer pitch more than 75 years after his relatives murder is especially symbolic and meaningful to him. "I'm really excited to help youths develop their potential and have a great life. For 700 years my ancestors in Poland prayed to return to Jerusalem and I'm the lucky one who merited this and its a wonderful blessing. My way of repaying is by helping."
