Member of Knesset Esawi Frej (Meretz) was joined by the mayor of Kafr Qassem and senior businessmen from the Israeli-Arab village in paying a condolence call to the family of Reuven (Moti) Shmerling of Elkana, who was found murdered in Kafr Qassem on the eve of Sukkot. Frej said,"We are here to console and share our sorrow. Despite the ideological distance, the geographical proximity is more important than everything and creates a shared life in whose name we came. Moti worked in Kafr Qassem. He did not speak about coexistence. He lived it."
