the RIA news agency reported Friday that the speaker of the upper house of Russia‘a parliament, Valentina Matviyenko,said that she will discuss the issue of North Korea’s missile and nuclear program with parliamentary delegations from both Seoul and Pyongyang, .
Matviyenko said she will propose that the delegations of North Korea and South Korea meet to seek a compromise. Russia is hosting an international congress of parliamentarians this weekend.
However the TASS news agency reported Saturday that a member of the North Korean delegation had said his delegation is not planning to meet with the South Korean delegation at the congress.
