Rabbi Yuval Cherlow, who heads the ethics department in the Tzohar rabbinic organization, supports the new proposal of MK Revital Swid(Zionist Union) to establish a database with names and pictures of those who refuse to grant a divorce document(get) to their wives.
Cherlow says that the proposal is responsible and correct, since "halakha requires a remorseless struggle against exploitation, usually by males but not exclusively so."
Cherlow believes that establishing such a database is a "responsible and moderate use of the power of shaming and social pressure," and added that the support of Chief Rabbi Lau will enable such a move to succeed.
