MK Itzik Shmuli (Zionist Union) responded to the blocking of the Ayalon freeway as part of the disabled persons demonstration by saying that the government is trying to wear down and break the disabled persons struggle and therefore their decision to increase the tempo of the struggle is "extremely justified."
Shmoli added that "the justified anger and frustration of the drivers should be directed at the government which has done nothing to solve the crisis at a time when there are billions of shekels of surplus in the treasury."
