A military court sentenced sergeant-major Nehorai Zano to a two year prison sentence after he was convicted last April of rape and indecent behavior towards a soldier serving together with him.
The court also sentenced Zano to pay compensation to the victim.
Zano was released from the army in the wake of his conviction. The plea bargain agreement was reached after mediation.
