Opposition leader Yitzhak Herzog welcomed the appointment of Esther Hayut as Chief Justice and referred to Minister Yariv Levin's attack Tuesday on the seniority-based appointment system .
Herzog said that "Minister Levin wishes to raise a hand against one of the governmental authorities and to harm the Zionist enterprise but in light of the congratulations from all around, he appears to be alone in his viewpoint."
