The father and mother of New York Assemblyman Michael Simanowitz, who died Saturday at the age of 45, are leading supporters of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

"Michael was one of the Jewish leaders revered both in Israel and US as an aspiring leader. This is a great loss for the people of Israel, the land of Israel and the Torah of Israel," said the director of Arutz Sheva, Yaakov Katz (Ketzele).
