Supreme Court justices criticized the state at a hearing on Thursday in an expanded panel on petitions against the freeze on the outline of the Western Wall, which creates a mixed-gender prayer area there.
The judges said they expected to receive explanations as to why the state had retracted a plan already approved by the government.
