The Palestinian Authority has cancelled a plan to force into retirement more than 6,000 of its workers in Gaza, according to an announcement by Palestinian prime minister Rami Hamdallah.
Hamdallah announced that the PA will rehire the more than 6,000 civil servants in the Gaza Strip who were forced into retirement last month, The step was part of a number of policies seeking to pressure Hamas, the de facto ruling party in Gaza, to reconcile with the PA.
