Data released by the National Authority for Public Transport reveal a 5% increase in public transport over the first half of 2017 as opposed to the previous year.
Transport minister Yisrael Katz who announced the data said that there had been a 30% increase in public transport travel over the past 7 years.
The biggest increase had occurred in the Jerusalem light rail, which saw a 13% increase in travel.
