The Jerusalem District Court has fined Chief Sephardic Rabbi Eliyahu Bakshi-Doron 250,000 shekels in connection with the "Rabbinc Degrees" case, in which police officers were given salary supplements for fictitious certificates of study.
The former Sephardic chief rabbi of Israel also received a suspended 12-month prison sentence.
