PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas has signed a directive allowing the PA to sentence from a year's jailtime to life imprisonment for those who criticize the PA online.
The directive, which took effect last month under the PA Electronic Crimes Act, rules that sentences from a year to life imprisonment can be given for those who violate the act. The Pa has already blocked 30 sites on the basis of the directive and arrested five journalists.
