Suffered cardiac arrest, came back to life

Avraham Sasson lost consciousness in the middle of the night and his wife Irit immediately summoned MDA paramedics.

The MDA paramedics performed lifesaving techniques including resuscitation, CPR and electric shocks with a defibrillator. Together with a team from an MDA ambulance the medics performed 50 critical minutes of lifesaving treatment which restored Sasson's pulse.

After his condition stabilized, Sasson was transferred to Beilinson hospital where he once again lost consciousness and doctors fought for his life for a number of days. Sasson, who had suffered a serious heart attack, regained consciousness after a week without any brain damage despite doctors prognosis of brain or cognitive damage.

Sasson and his wife met at the Petah Tikva MDA station with the MDA medics who fought for Avraham's life and thanked them for their critical role in saving Avraham.
