MK Elazar Stern(Yesh Atid) attended the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee meeting regarding the method of exemption from IDF service for religious girls and attacked the head of the National Service Authority, Sar Shalom Jerbi.
Stern claimed that Jerbi had overstepped his authority, which is only to deal with girls who had already received their exemption but not to encourage them to take an exemption, whereas group signing in schools would encourage all religious girls to take the exemption.
He added that the government decision to set up a National Service Authority maintained the preferential status of army service over national service.
