The Lahav 433 police unit has concluded its investigation of Kfar Saba mayor Yehuda Ben Hamou on corruption charges.

A large number of people were investigated including the mayor. He is suspected of opening an individual account for funneling contributions of hundreds of thousands of NIS from businessmen, utilizing his status and claiming that the contributions were designated for acquiring food items for members of the town. Instead, the contributions were allegedly transferred to the mayors associates and for his private use.

He is also accused of conflicts of interest. When serving as director of the building committee, he promoted the needs of one of his associates.

Investigators believe there is enough evidence for an indictment.
